"The Cove" is exactly that - a natural area of super white beach sand, enclosed on either side by coral formations.

Moving inland, natural groves of Baobab give way to coastal and secondary forests. Here the water is sweet, and the air cool.

Stumbling upon an area on the Kenya coast which remains undeveloped in the Western sense is not that difficult. But it is perhaps the more surprising that this particular area, Kinondo, remains more or less unscathed by the seemingly relentless march of deforestation and small scale subsistance cultivation. In other areas of the country, this has turned rivers brown, silted the dams, and generally played havoc with the biostasis.

The Cove Investment concept consists of

  • The creation of a selected and limited series of delicately constructed Tree Houses on the beach front to be used for tourist services. The Treehouse model is now available for direct purchase. Structures will be located around the huge Oasis Pool in the centre of the property.
  • The crafting of individual Villas on preselected sites throughout the property for direct purchase or rental

During which

  • We will actively promote the encouragement of the local community participation where-ever possible and
  • take positive steps to preserve the Cove as a natural area

Overall, the property is to remain as wild and as natural as possible. This translates to a requirement for the design, siting and operation of all constructed facilities to be in that context. Consequently, whilst all facilities will be of high international standard, materials will, where possible, be drawn from local sources and so will the skills required to complete the programme. Similarly, we anticipate that the five star excellence of the property be mirrored by a very "five star" friendly service in the public areas.

Discerning owners are drawn here by the overall community and preservation ethos. There will be no discos or noisy night life here, apart from the occasional cries of the bushbabies, and thoughts of casinos are best kept at bay. Once a nucleus of owners is established, an owners association will be formed, and the responsiblities of the upkeep of the access areas and maintenance of Villas will be given over.
