The
Cove Retreat ensures this holiday brings you as
close to nature and paradise as you will ever get. Situated 12km south of the bustling, busy beach of Diani, the
Cove offers exclusivity, pampered service, and the peace and
quiet of a magical location away from hectic and harried lifestyles.
 Here there is no noise pollution. The only sound you
will hear is the wishwash of the tide, the distant call of
a fish eagle, and the occasional leaf rustle of a Colobus monkey
roaming the baobabs trees on a family outing. Add to this to
the startling colour of a vivid green forest beneath the etched
blue of a tropical sky, the glazed white beach
and aquamarine slip of ocean before the crests of waves
on the coral reef. This is The Cove experience, a new life,

The Cove Retreat has an Arabian-style restaurant and pool area. The Asali restaurant
is recessed slightly below ground level, offering seated guests a thrilling
view of the infinity pool and ocean. Swimmers may enjoy a seat at the bar
! The Cove chefs work with local produce, particularly fresh fish and vegetables
in season, all purchased directly from our friendly Community members.
Activities.
The following is a short, non exhaustive list of activities
that may be arranged from the Cove. Pre-arrangement for all of
them is necessary and bookings may be made at time of reservations,
or in house :-
- Day excursions - various marine excursions are available.
- Shopping - there is a shopping
centre at Diani some 12 KM away, taxis are available
on request
- Fishing and diving - several centres
are available. There are excellent reef fishing and
dive sites in the immediate area
and several "big game" fishing companies
operating out of the Pemba channel, one hour's drive
South.
- Watersports - a 10 minute drive takes
you to the area's leading water sports facility
- Further afield - air safaris and
road safaris to the game viewing areas of Tsavo National
Park and Masai Mara are available
- Sable Valley Treehouses - for those who wish to combine
the romance of a beach Treehouse or Villa stay with a
visit to the Africa hinterland,, these Treehouses
in the Shimba Hills are a must.
- Community Activities - these are
highly recommended. Details are below.
Community
activities and relations (
read more here ) form part
of the Cove concept – protection of our immediate
environment and all of us who live in it. We have provided
electricity, water and a new community building for
the fisherfolk. We
invite all guests to enjoy our Community activities – African
Kayaks, Africa outrigger, guided coral reef walks and
guided visits to
our local Village and Mangrove Forest system. Formal
watersports, diving and fishing are by special arrangement
whilst at the Cove.
